China starts drilling 10,000-metre deep hole in ground

China has started drilling a second 10,000-metre deep hole in the ground. The borehole is being drilled in Southwest China's Sichuan Basin and has a designed depth of 10,520 metre to find ultra-deep reserves of natural gas. China National Petroleum Corp began drilling a similar-sized hole in May, which was then described as the deepest ever in China.
