China stops issuing autonomous vehicle permits after Baidu outage: Report

China has stopped issuing new licenses for autonomous vehicles after several Baidu robotaxis froze in the middle of the roads earlier this month, Bloomberg reported. Firms operating autonomous vehicles will no longer be able to add to their fleets, launch new projects or expand into additional cities, the report added. Local authorities in China's Wuhan had earlier suspended Baidu's operations.
