China's Baidu appoints former Microsoft exec Qi Lu as COO

Chinese search engine operator Baidu on Monday disclosed that it has hired former Executive Vice President of Microsoft, Qi Lu as its Chief Operating Officer. Lu will handle products, technology, sales, marketing, and operations in his new role and participate in Baidu's push towards artificial intelligence. Qi Lu worked with Yahoo for 11 years before joining Microsoft.
