China's Fosun buys Thomas Cook brand name for $14.3 million

Chinese conglomerate Fosun on Friday said it is acquiring the Thomas Cook and related hotel brands for $14.3 million from the liquidators of the collapsed travel group. The deal also gives Fosun access to Thomas Cook trademarks, websites, social media accounts and software applications. Fosun was Thomas Cook's largest shareholder and a key part of a failed rescue deal.
