China's SenseTime becomes world’s most valuable AI startup

China's artificial intelligence (AI) startup SenseTime has become the world's most valuable AI startup after raising $600 million mainly from Alibaba. The round, which valued the startup at over $3 billion, also saw participation from Singapore's Temasek and retailer Suning.com. Founded in 2014, SenseTime develops face recognition technology that can be applied to payments and picture analysis.
