Chinese bots tried to turn Americans against AI data centres: X

X said it identified about 200 accounts linked to a suspected Chinese bot farm posting content that could manipulate US debate on AI data centres and energy policy. Posts claimed data centres were raising electricity prices and straining the grid. OpenAI had earlier disrupted a likely China-origin campaign pushing similar anti-data-centre narratives in June this year.
