Chinese island bases in South China Sea vulnerable to attack: Report

The military bases built by China on artificial islands in the South China Sea are vulnerable to attack, a Chinese military magazine said. The bases are also yet to achieve any significant offensive capabilities, it added. However, the bases have a valuable role in asserting China's claim over disputed Spratly Islands and in intelligence gathering and reconnaissance, it further said.
