Chinese researchers create 'biological pacemaker' to control heartbeat

Chinese researchers have successfully engineered a "biological pacemaker" in a petri dish, creating a sinoatrial node organoid that can be regulated by nerve cells to control heartbeat. The node, located in the right atrium, helps the heart beat continuously and rhythmically. Known as the heart's "master conductor", it continuously sends out electrical signals regulated by the nervous system.
