Chinese scientists demonstrate ground-based system that can wirelessly charge drones mid-air

Scientists in China have demonstrated a wireless power transmission system that uses a ground-based microwave emitter to beam energy to an antenna array mounted on a drone's underside. Importantly, they were able to do this while both the drone and the charging system were in motion. Meanwhile, Analysts said such systems could extend the operational reach of ground forces.
