French Open finalist Maja Chwalinska won her maiden WTA Tour title after defeating British tennis player Sonay Kartal in the Wuhan Open 2026 final on Sunday. The 25-year-old won 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 against world number 170 Kartal, who became the lowest-ranked finalist in a WTA 1000 tournament. "That was one heck of a battle," Kartal said after the match.
