Cineworld to buy US' Regal to create 2nd biggest cinema firm
UK's Cineworld has agreed to acquire US rival Regal Entertainment for $3.6 billion in a deal that will create the world's second-largest cinema operator. The combined company will have over 9,500 screens in 10 countries. AMC Theatres, part of China's Dalian Wanda Group, is world's largest cinema operator with over 11,000 screens.
