Claim that Railways will provide free travel for Kumbh Mela false

Some media reports claimed Indian Railways will allow passengers to travel free of cost during Maha Kumbh Mela that is scheduled to be held in UP's Prayagraj starting January 13. However, Indian Railways refuted the claim and called it "baseless". The statement emphasised that travelling without valid ticket is strictly prohibited under Indian Railways' rules and is a punishable offense.
