Class 2 Hindu student asked to learn 'Kalma' as homework at Hyd school, teacher suspended

The family of a Class 2 Hindu student alleged that the child was asked to learn 'Kalma' (an Islamic declaration of faith) as homework at a private school in Hyderabad. The child's aunt confronted a teacher at school, saying, "Kalma is not homework for our kids. That is completely unacceptable." A teacher, Shaik Aisha Parveen, was suspended in the case.
