Cleaner annoyed with beep sound switches off lab freezer in US, causes $1M damage
Annoyed by an incessant beep sound, a cleaner at a US private research institute allegedly flipped a switch that stopped the noise but also shut off the storage freezer, destroying significant scientific work. In a lawsuit against the cleaning firm, the university said this cost the lab at least $1 million in damages and wiped out 25 years of research.
