CM Vijay's TVK wins floor test in Tamil Nadu Assembly, proves majority with 144 MLAs

CM Vijay's TVK-led government won trust vote in Tamil Nadu Assembly by gaining support of 144 MLAs. The majority was proven with backing from five Congress MLAs, two MLAs each from CPI, CPI(M), VCK, and IUML, and 25 MLAs from the rebel AIADMK faction. The majority mark dropped from 118 to 117 after Vijay resigned from the Trichy (East) seat.
