Coal production in India reaches 1 billion tonnes for 2nd year in a row

According to the Ministry of Coal, India has achieved one-billion-tonne coal production milestone for second year in a row. “This significant milestone underscores India’s growing self-reliance in the energy sector and its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply to key industries,” the Coal Ministry said. Coal reportedly helps in generating over 70% of the country's electricity.
