Coca-Cola brand featured on TIME magazine's cover on May 15, 1950. The cover showed Coca-Cola's red disc serving the world. The then President of Coca-Cola, Robert Woodruff was asked to pose for the cover, but declined noting that the brand was more important than any one man at the company. Coca-Cola's inventor John Pemberton passed away on August 16, 1888.
