Codex weekly users surged 27x in India since start of 2026: OpenAI

OpenAI said that weekly users of its AI-powered coding agent Codex, in India have increased by 27 times since the start of 2026. The AI firm further said that daily interactions with the coding agent in India have grown by over 20 times since late April. India is now among the top five countries globally for Codex adoption, OpenAI said.
