Cold storage faces ₹31.5 lakh penalty for selling farmer's carrots

A Madhya Pradesh consumer commission ordered a cold storage facility to pay ₹31.54 lakh after it sold over 48,000 kg of a farmer's carrots without his consent. The commission ruled the facility failed to protect the stored produce and found no evidence that the farmer had approved the sale, holding it guilty of deficiency in service.
