Coldest known lava planet discovered, may resemble early Earth
University of Chicago researchers have discovered the coldest lava planet found so far with evidence of an atmosphere. Named HD 3167 b, the rocky super-Earth is located 154 light-years away in the constellation Pisces. "We are interested in studying these kinds of planets because we think early Earth might have looked a lot like a lava world," a researcher said.
