Collector blames 3-yr-old rape victim in TN, transferred

District Collector AP Mahabharathi was transferred on Friday after he reportedly blamed a 3-year-old rape victim for provoking assault on her by 17-year-old boy in Tamil Nadu's Mayiladuthurai. The collector had said the girl may have behaved inappropriately by spitting on boy's face, which allegedly instigated the act. HS Srikanth has been appointed as the new District Collector of Mayiladuthurai.
