Colleges pay gold coins to recruiters for placements: upGrad CEO

Vishwa Mohan, upGrad School of Tech founder, revealed that placement teams at private universities pocket gold coins from mass recruiters like Infosys and TCS to secure campus visits, and that the same package of ₹3.2 lakh offered in 2006 is still being offered in 2026. He called this a silent, institutional scam.
