Colombia beat Uzbekistan, go above Portugal in FIFA WC standings

Colombia began their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a 3-1 win over debutants Uzbekistan at the Mexico City Stadium. They also moved to the top of their Group K, as earlier Portugal and Congo DR played a draw. Daniel Munoz, Luis Diaz and Jaminton Campaz scored for Colombia, while Abbosbek Fayzullaev scored first-ever goal in World Cup for Uzbekistan.
