Colombia recognises Israel’s sovereignty over Golan Heights

Colombia has recognised Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, becoming only the second country after the US to do so. Israel captured the majority of the Golan Heights from Syria during the 1967 Six-Day War and later annexed it in 1981. However, the United Nations has not recognised Israel's annexation and continues to consider the Golan Heights occupied Syrian territory.
