Colonial-era Gorkha force to be revived in West Bengal

West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari has announced that the Eastern Frontier Rifles, a force that fought in both World Wars and against Pakistan in 1971, will be revived. He said over 1,000 Gorkha youths will be recruited into the force. Darjeeling MP Raju Bista said he had been working to revive EFR for several years, but TMC government stopped it.
