Commercial mining in coal sector to be introduced, govt monopoly to end

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday announced that the government will introduce commercial mining in coal sector on revenue-share basis to reduce import of substitutable coal and increase self-reliance in coal production. She added that government monopoly in the coal sector will end. She further said that ₹50,000 crore will be provided for evacuation infrastructure of coal.
