Common diabetes drug Metformin slows ageing in monkeys: Study

Metformin, an inexpensive diabetes drug, slows ageing in male monkeys, particularly in their brain, as per a new study. Researchers found metformin slowed the biological ageing of lungs, kidneys, liver, skin and the brain's frontal lobe and also restrained chronic inflammation. Notably, the finding raises the possibility that the medication could one day be used to delay ageing in humans.
