Compounding climate crisis and its effects on agriculture

Researchers from IISER Bhopal and the University of California found that compound dry and hot extremes drastically amplify vegetation stress. After analysing climate and vegetation data from 2000 to 2024 across 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh, researchers revealed how simultaneous weather hazards threaten rainfed agriculture and ecosystems.
