Cong beats BJP in Chhattisgarh Assembly elections after 15 years

Congress has secured the required majority in the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly and will form the government in the state for the first time in 15 years. It has secured 47 seats so far, while the BJP, which has been in power in the state since 2003, has won 10 seats. Notably, Congress had won 39 seats in Chhattisgarh in 2013.
