Congress' Adhir Chowdhury loses from Bengal's Baharampur by 17,485 votes

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury lost from Baharampur Assembly constituency in West Bengal elections by a margin of 17,485 votes on Monday. BJP leader Subrata Maitra won the election from the seat by securing 90,370 votes. Chowdhury, a five-time Congress MP and former leader of the party in the Lok Sabha, returned to state politics after two-and-a-half decades.
