Congress' Shama Mohamed claims Gayatri Mantra played at IIT convocation, alum fact checks her

Congress leader Shama Mohamed claimed Gayatri Mantra was played at IIT Delhi's 57th Convocation ceremony. The recitation was a verse from the Shikshavalli section of the Taittiriya Upanishad, and not the Gayatri Mantra. IIT Kanpur alumnus and 1968 Physics gold medallist Gyan C Mehta said, "Fundamental premise of your post is factually incorrect. What is being chanted isn't...Gayatri Mantra."
