Congress denies its MPs backed UPI charge proposal, says govt trying to divert attention

The Congress on Thursday denied that its five MPs, who were reportedly present at a meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, backed the UPI charge proposal. It stated that the panel had not discussed the recently announced measure. The Congress added that the government is trying to divert attention from "gigantic backlash" after the "UPI tax" decision.
