Congress MLA Vinay disqualified from K'taka Assembly after conviction in murder case

Congress MLA Vinay Kulakarni has been disqualified from the Karnataka Assembly following his conviction by a Bengaluru court for murdering a BJP leader in 2016. An order stated that he stands disqualified from the date of his conviction, April 15, and will remain disqualified for six years after his release. Kulakarni's disqualification will be cancelled if court stays his conviction.
