Congress moves Supreme Court in support of Places of Worship Act

Congress moved Supreme Court seeking to intervene in cases filed against validity of Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act 1991, which preserves character of religious places as they existed on August 15, 1947. Congress said it's committed to principles of secularism and was instrumental in enacting the law when it along with Janata Dal were in majority in Lok Sabha.
