Congress' Vikhe Patil resigns as Maharashtra opposition head

Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil on Thursday resigned as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Assembly. This comes after Patil declined to campaign for the party in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections despite being named as the star campaigner. Maharashtra Congress President, Ashok Chavan, confirmed that Patil's resignation has been accepted by the party President Rahul Gandhi.
