Considering food inflation to decide interest rate is flawed theory: Piyush Goyal
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, while speaking to CNBC-TV18 at an event, said it's a "flawed theory" for RBI to consider food inflation while deciding interest rate structure. "Food inflation has nothing to do with managing inflation. It's a demand-supply situation," Goyal said. Reacting to Goyal's comment, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said he'd reserve his comments for the upcoming MPC meeting.
