Constable who fired AK-47 at student protesters wasn't given any such order: Siwan DM

Siwan District Magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitrey reacted after a constable fired an AK-47 during student protests in Bihar, saying, "He did not have the orders to do so." Maitrey said the constable has been suspended and a departmental inquiry initiated against him. The protests were held over alleged examination irregularities and the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.
