Construction cost of university rises by ₹488 crore in 6 months in Bihar

The construction cost for the permanent campus of Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), Motihari, surged from ₹850 crore to ₹1,338.83 crore within just six months, the Comptroller and Auditor General has flagged. The CAG attributed the rise in cost to delays in finalising the detailed project report (DPR). The university called the report preliminary audit observations and not final findings.
