The death toll due to coronavirus in worst-affected Italy has risen to 17,669 after 542 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The number of confirmed cases in the country climbed to 139,422, the third highest global tally behind that of the United States and Spain. There are 3,693 COVID-19 patients in ICU in Italy.
