Corruption trial of ousted Myanmar leader to start on Oct 1

A judge has set October 1 as the date to start a trial against Myanmar's ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi on corruption charges, a member of her legal team said. The military had seized power and detained Suu Kyi during a coup on February 1. Independent analysts have said that the charges against Suu Kyi are politically motivated.
