Cosmetic products cannot be injected into body: Centre

The Centre said cosmetic products cannot be injected into body or promoted as treatments. In a notice, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation said injectable products do not qualify as cosmetics under Drugs and Cosmetics Act. It added cosmetics are intended only to be "rubbed, poured, sprinkled or sprayed" on body for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness or altering appearance.
