Cape Verde, an island nation off Africa's west coast with a population of around 5,25,000, fewer than Noida's estimated 9,50,000, have qualified for FIFA World Cup knockouts on their tournament debut. Cape Verde have become the smallest nation to qualify for FIFA World Cup knockouts. Cape Verde will face Argentina in the Round of 32.
