Couple builds global personal care business with ₹7000 investment

Nithya, an ex-banker, and her engineer husband Rajapandi invested ₹7,000 and began handcrafting organic soaps in their kitchen in Theni, Tamil Nadu, in 2018. Today, their startup Akathiya Natural exports skincare and haircare products globally, clocking a monthly turnover of ₹12 lakh. It is targeting to close this fiscal with a ₹2 crore turnover.
