Court allows Marine Le Pen to run for France's President in 2027 but with electronic tag

An appeals court on Tuesday cleared the way for far-right leader Marine Le Pen to run in 2027 French presidential election. While declaring Le Pen guilty of embezzlement, the court ruled that she must serve a ​three-year jail term, two years ‌of which will be ⁠suspended. It ordered her to wear an electronic ankle tag for one ​year.
