Court suspends Somnath Bharti's conviction, 2-yr jail term in assault case

A Delhi sessions court on Thursday suspended the conviction and two-year jail term awarded to AAP MLA Somnath Bharti over a 2016 assault case, pending the outcome of his appeal filed before a higher court. Bharti was convicted by a magisterial court for assaulting AIIMS security personnel. The matter will now be taken up on February 15.
