COVID-19 ‘FLiRT’ variant: Can virus bypass immune defense?

The US is currently seeing an emergence of the FLiRT variant, the name of the variant sounds quite interesting and belongs to a group of Omicron JN.1 lineage. Reports claim that this variant has the potential to invade the immune system because of a trans substitution of amino acids between two spike proteins. But can FLiRT invade our immune system?
