CR earns ₹3,462 cr from freight loading in April-August

Central Railway (CR) earned ₹3,461.92 crore from freight loading during April-August 2026, up 3.4% year-on-year. Freight loading rose 7.4% to 34.48 million tonnes across 13,058 rakes. In August, the railway zone recorded its highest monthly freight loading for the month in 10 years at 6.85 million tonnes, marking a 22% increase over August 2025.
