Crabs exhibit both male and female characteristics: Study

A team of researchers found freshwater crabs exhibiting a phenomenon called Gynandromorphism, in which an individual displays both male and female characteristics simultaneously in a rainforest stream in Silent Valley National Park in Kerala. This marks the very first time this mixed-sex condition has been recorded in the entire Gecarcinucidae family of freshwater crabs.
