Cricket Australia confirms Big Bash League privatisation, Melbourne Renegades up for sale

Cricket Australia has approved private investment in the Big Bash League and launched the sale process for a 100% stake in the Melbourne Renegades licence. New ownership is targeted for the 2027-28 season, while the upcoming BBL and WBBL campaigns remain unaffected. Other states can decide whether to sell stakes in their franchises under CA's new 'self-determination' model in future.
