CRPF suspends DIG who opposed CAPF Bill, called for change in govt

The CRPF has suspended DIG BC Patra, posted in Agartala, over social media content that allegedly called for a change in the country's government during the passage of the CAPF (General Administration) Bill 2026. "All...uniformed officers...are bound by...the oath," CRPF Director General GP Singh said. However, officers familiar with the matter termed the action "mala fide" and "unjustified".
